Poached Eggs Croissant Recipe

Poached eggs on top of buttery and flaky croissants make for a delicious breakfast or brunch dish.

Ingredients

Time Needed

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Cook Time: 10 minutes
  • Total Time: 20 minutes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Split the croissants in half and toast for about 5 minutes, or until lightly browned.
  • Bring the water to a boil in a medium-sized pot, then add the white vinegar.
  • Reduce the heat to low, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer, and crack one egg into a small bowl or cup.
  • Slide the egg carefully into the pot and poach for 2-3 minutes, or until the egg white is set but the yolk is still runny.
  • With a slotted spoon, remove the egg from the pot and place it on a paper towel to absorb any excess water.
  • Steps 4–6 should be repeated with the second egg.
  • Butter the toasted croissants and season with salt and pepper.
  • Place a poached egg on top of each croissant.
  • Serve right away.
