Poached eggs with cheese on toast is a delicious and simple breakfast or brunch option. The creamy cheddar cheese complements the runny poached eggs, which are piled on top of a crispy slice of toast.

  • Prep Time: 5 minutes
  • Cook Time: 10 minutes
  • Total Time: 15 minutes

Instructions

  • Toast the bread until it is done to your liking.
  • Bring a small pot of water to a simmer on the stove.
  • To the simmering water, add white vinegar.
  • Separate the eggs into small bowls or ramekins.
  • Pour the eggs, one at a time, into the simmering water.
  • Allow the eggs to cook for 3-4 minutes, or until done to preference.
  • Using a slotted spoon, remove the eggs from the water and place them on a paper towel to drain excess water.
  • Top each slice of toast with a slice of cheddar cheese.
  • On top of the cheese, place the poached eggs.
  • To taste, season with salt and pepper.
  • Serve immediately.
