Poached Eggs with Buttered Toast Recipe

This traditional breakfast dish is a delicious and simple way to start the day. The poached eggs are cooked to perfection and served with buttered toast for a hearty and filling meal.

  • Cook Time: 5 minutes
  • Total Time: 10 minutes

Instructions

  • Toast the bread slices until they are done to your liking.
  • Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
  • Separate the eggs into ramekins or cups.
  • Pour in enough water to cover the eggs, then add the vinegar.
  • Turn the heat up to medium-high and bring the water to a boil.
  • Pour the eggs into the water one at a time, gently.
  • Cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until the whites are set but the yolks are still runny.
  • With a slotted spoon, remove the eggs and place them on a paper towel to drain.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste and place a poached egg on top of each slice of toast.
